Wallethub on Tuesday released the results of a study that ranked all 50 states from best to worst for average car owners, and the top locale may surprise you. Apparently, the average driver thinks that Iowa is the best state in which to own and operate a car.

The study didn’t take into account things like curvy roads that make driving fun — no, this was a more practical examination. Sub-categories included things like “Traffic and Infrastructure,” “Safety,” and “Access to Vehicles and Maintenance.” The top slot in those categories went to Wyoming, Massachusetts and California, respectively.

Some interesting side facts to come out of the study: California, unsurprisingly to no one who lives there, has the highest percentage of congestion at rush hour. Mississippi, on the other hand, had the lowest percentage. Cars are least likely to be stolen in Vermont and most likely to be stolen in Alaska, and Hawaii has some of the highest maintenance costs in the country.
