In a recent interview discussing one of his latest films, Knives Out, director Rian Johnson revealed that the technology company doesn’t want on-screen villains to be seen using its products.
“Apple, they let you use iPhones in movies, but — and this is very pivotal if you're ever watching a mystery movie — bad guys cannot have iPhones on camera,” Johnson said. He then quipped that most mystery movie directors probably want to kill him for revealing that.
This isn’t the first time that someone has pointed out a good-guys-only association with Apple products on screen — one viewer predicted a major plot twist in the TV show 24 because they noticed that only the good guys were seen using Mac computers.
