What is the latest way to detect problems with your car?

Answer: Put it through a scanner and let an AI do all the work.

UVeye, an Israeli startup, was originally founded to create scanners for detecting bombs and other threats on the undersides of cars. But they’ve realized that their technology could also be put to good use by the everyday consumer. Wouldn’t it be nice to simply drive your car over a scanner to find out what is wrong with it, rather than having it done by a human who could easily miss something?

UVeye currently has a couple different types of scanners: one that sits on the ground and checks the underside of the car, one for looking at the wheels, and one composed of a set of arched arms that scan around and over the car’s exterior. Central to the whole system is a machine learning system that has access to stock data about cars. The system can quickly pick out anomalies like leaks, damages and missing parts based on this data.
