Last year, Bloomberg reported that Amazon was considering selling the technology powering its cashierless Go stores to other retailers. Today, the company confirmed that this is indeed happening, with “several” retailers already signed up.

The technology, which Amazon is marketing as the Just Walk Out system, works much like the e-commerce giants own branded Amazon Go stores. The major difference is at the entrance, where customers must enter a credit card into a turnstile. They can also enter an email address in order to receive a digital receipt.

Once in the store, customers’ shopping selections are tracked using ceiling cameras and shelf weight monitors, just like in a Go store. When they’re ready to leave, they simply do so. The credit card that they scanned upon entering the store will be charged for the purchases.
