The well-known, lovable actor may be stuck inside like the rest of us, but that isn’t stopping him from still being an active member of society. Hanks is currently under quarantine in Australia with his wife Rita Wilson after both tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

In recent posts on their respective Instagram accounts, the two have taken up the call to join a new political party, the #CouchParty. According to Wilson’s post, the nonprofit voter encouragement organization When We All Vote, of which Hanks is a co-chair, planned to host a virtual outreach party on March 25 from 6-9 p.m. The goal of the event was to “from a safe distance … interact with 50,000 thousands [sic] potential voters to make sure they are registered and ready to vote.”

Hanks and Wilson have been actively using their social media accounts during their quarantine period in order to stay connected with the outside world and to update their fans on how they are doing. Both appear to be doing well and recovering from the virus.
