The company behind Aurora Station, Orion Span, is calling it the “World’s First Luxury Space Hotel” and says it is slated for launch in 2022. What's more, people are apparently jumping at the chance. Just three days after Orion Span started taking reservations, four months' worth of trips had been booked.
Aurora Station will orbit at about 200 miles above the Earth’s surface and will be able to accommodate four passengers and two crew members at a time. Hotel-goers will get “an authentic astronaut experience” that includes growing vegetables in zero gravity conditions. They’ll also be able to keep their friends back on the ground up to date via the fastest Wi-Fi connection in space.
