Greenhouse gas emissions can't hide from what?

Answer: Satellites.

Ground-based monitoring of greenhouse gas emissions is going to be getting a helping hand from above. Bloomberg reports that many governments and startups in the U.S. have been exploring the possibilities of measuring emissions from space, greatly improving efforts to locate and reduce the harmful emissions.

Not only are satellites much faster and cheaper than ground-based monitoring methods, they can also make it much easier to pinpoint the exact source. For example, a satellite could detect a leak and be able to quickly pinpoint the individual facility causing it.

“Seeing exactly who is emitting what, where, how much and when is a must in order to reduce emissions and stop climate change,” said Yotam Ariel, the founder of Bluefield Technologies Inc.
