Amazon Alexa devices in Mexico and Spain have been able to speak and understand Spanish for a while, but in the U.S. Alexa currently only operates in English. That’s about to change, however, starting with the introduction of a new voice model for the Alexa Skills Kit. This model allows developers to create Alexa skills specifically for Spanish-speaking users.
Later in 2019, Amazon is planning to roll out full Spanish language support across its range of Echo devices in the U.S. Additionally, full Spanish support will come to devices from manufacturers including Bose, Facebook and Sony with Alexa built in, as well as to Works with Alexa devices from Philips, TP Link and Honeywell.
