Who has launched a new streaming service?

Answer: The Supreme Court.

There’s a new streaming service out there, but it’s a little different than the ones you’re used to. It’s completely free, for one. Also, it's run by the Supreme Court of the United States.

With the coronavirus keeping people, including the justices of the Supreme Court, at home, that government body has had to find a new way to keep functioning. Therefore, beginning this week, the court will be hearing cases via conference call and streaming the audio to the public. This is the first time in the history of the Supreme Court that cases have been heard remotely.

The first case, “Patent and Trademark Office v. Booking.com B.V. Oral Argument,” was heard on Monday morning, 10 a.m. ET. The audio was livestreamed on C-SPAN and by other media outlets, and can also be found on the Supreme Court’s website.
