Matebot, from Shenzhen-based Ekasbo, looks a lot like a cartoon cat with its oversized head and very big eyes. The black and white catbot reacts when petted, moving its ears and tilting its head. It also changes the expression in its eyes, which are LED and can take on a number of different looks.
As its name suggests, Matebot was created to be a companion, particularly for people who don’t or can’t have pets. It features voice recognition and infrared technology that allow it to respond to its human’s interactions. The bot can also integrate with Android voice control systems, and has an accompanying smartphone app.
