How many wheels does this single-passenger EV have?

Answer: Three.

Aptly named the Solo, the first of these vehicles by Vancouver, British Columbia-based Electra Meccanica to be purchased by a U.S. customer was shipped in May of this year, according to New Atlas. But there are a lot more of them coming — the company hopes to produce 75,000 vehicles in the next three years at its new production facility, and the first one just rolled off the assembly line.

The fully enclosed three-wheeler is 100 percent electric and legally classified as a motorcycle. It can go from 0 to 60 mph in eight seconds and has a top speed of 85 mph. It has a 61 kW (82 hp) electric motor and the 17.3 kWh battery can cover 100 miles per charge. The Solo takes six hours to recharge with a standard 110-volt wall socket and also has a J1772 connector for fast charging.

The current price is $15,000, and now that production has ramped up, putting down a $250 deposit should get you one sooner rather than later.
