What did two women from Sweden recently launch to protect bicycle riders?

Answer: an invisible bike helmet

The invisible bicycle helmet concept began as an industrial design master thesis at Sweden's Lund University in spring 2005, according to empowerlounge.com. After seven years, Anna Haupt and Terese Alstin launched Hövding, a collar that contains a folded up airbag that deploys only if the cyclist is in an accident. It takes about 0.1 seconds to inflate, and will be fully inflated before head impact.

The Hövding has been on sale in Sweden, Norway and Denmark, but isn't yet available in the U.S. -- yet. Haupt and Alstin say they look forward to launching here when they have "the time and resources," according to ABC News
