This week, Brandwatch, a social media company, released its annual list of the top influencers on Twitter. There are three categories: top 10 most influential women, top 10 most influential men, and a combination of the lists. The singer came out on top with a score of 98 points, just edging out another singer, Liam Payne, with 97 points.
Each user gets a score out of 100. The criteria focus mostly on the amount of genuine engagement that the account generated, as well as a number of Twitter metrics. According to Brandwatch Data Journalist Gemma Joyce, “while lots of followers, retweets and replies will help, the more influential the people they engage with, the better the score.”
