Uber has partnered with Disney to build a promotion into the app that transforms the little car icons into famous “Star Wars vehicles.” The feature is available to “Uber riders in hundreds of cities globally.”
The Star Wars promotion runs until Dec. 18 to publicize the latest installment of the intergalactic space opera series Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. To enable this feature, users need to open the Uber app, follow prompts to activate the feature within the “Rogue One” card, enter a destination and watch as a Kia Optima masquerades as a Star Destroyer. Currently there are no reports of drivers being replaced by Stormtroopers or Jedis (forgive my fandom).
