When is Zoom lifting its time limit for unpaid accounts?

It’s only a temporary lift of the time limit, but hopefully it will be enough to encourage many people to stay home.

With the free version of Zoom, meetings can only last for 40 minutes at a time, making it inconvenient for casual gatherings like a virtual Thanksgiving or Friendsgiving celebration. But with the coronavirus currently spreading like wildfire in the U.S., holding these events in-person is extremely dangerous this year.  

Fortunately, Zoom has decided to eliminate its time limit across the board on Thanksgiving Day. Beginning at midnight on Nov. 26, all Zoom accounts will be able to host meetings for an unlimited amount of time. This will last until 6 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 27. The hope is that people will be less inclined to gather in person to celebrate the holiday if they can do it virtually for the whole day if they so desire.
