E-Gov Services for Cleveland

"Place our city in the top tier of 'best practices for city e-government web services'."

The City of Cleveland yesterday announced that CIBER will host and assist with security and management of e-gov services offered through the city's portals and websites. CIBER will help the city enhance its web strategy by increasing web presence, strengthening website support architecture and expanding services for Cleveland citizens.

"CIBER demonstrated outstanding experience working with other major cities, like the City of San Francisco, in creating strong e-Gov offerings that resulted in high citizen satisfaction. Based on their hands-on experience, 30-year history of successfully working with local governments and their commitment to creating a strong local presence, we selected CIBER as our strategic web management partner," said Dr. Melodie Mayberry-Stewart, Chief Technology Officer for the City of Cleveland. "We are confident CIBER has the expertise to help us develop a site and service offering that will benefit our citizens now and for years to come and place our city in the top tier of 'best practices for city e-government web services'."

CIBER will begin by transitioning the website system to its managed services facility using its proprietary phased methodology. By using a managed services option, the City of Cleveland will immediately benefit from lower cost of ownership, streamlined IT management and a high level of availability and service. Following the transition, CIBER will perform an in-depth security assessment of the website system to establish additional functional requirements, including enhanced content management capabilities and increased security measurements.

Based on those requirements and strengthened capabilities, CIBER will enhance the site using the CIBER Project Management Methodology (CPMM), which combines best practices from the fields of project management and quality assurance with practical insights gained from their extensive delivery experience.

"The City of Cleveland, like cities around the country, faces the daunting task of delivering more value and services to its constituents with limited financial and technical resources. Selecting a technology partner with a proven track record of delivering robust e-Gov solutions is the most cost- effective and efficient way to deliver value to citizens," said Ed Burns, CIBER's President of State and Local Government Solutions Group. "We are pleased to have been selected by the great City of Cleveland based on our outstanding public sector experience with clients like the City of New Orleans, Ohio Department of Education and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). We remain committed to helping cities and states maximize IT investment and look forward to building a new and successful relationship with the City of Cleveland."
