Atlanta Airport Testing Biometric Security System

US-VISIT system compliance required at major U.S. entry ports by January

Atlanta's Hartsfield International Airport is testing a biometric security system, taking photos and fingerprints of visa-entry foreign visitors, according to an article in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The system will meet US-VISIT requirements to be implemented this January at major U.S. air and sea ports. The system will take a photo and live-scan fingerprint and do a realtime check against a federal watch-list database. The Hartsfield pilot will be watched for requirements and tuning in the national rollout.
