USCIS Launched Redesigned Web Portal

"This updated web portal is a giant step forward for our agency and a helpful new tool for you"

U.S. Citizenship and Immigrations Services (USCIS) has launched its new portal. The improved web portal will serve as a "one stop shop" for all information about U.S. immigration and citizenship. USCIS hosts an average of 135,000 daily visitors for a total of nearly six million total visits a month.

As part of the Department of Homeland Security, USCIS has two priorities: providing citizenship resources formerly offered by the Immigration and Naturalization Service including refugee processing, naturalization and documentation issuance and renewal, and supporting DHS national security efforts.

The new Web portal enables the agency to continue its efforts to eliminate immigration case backlogs, and improve customer services, while increasing data transparency for other government agencies.

The new site is easier to navigate, visitors can use the built-in search engine to easily locate needed information and can find answers to their immigration questions through the interactive "How Do I...?" page.

"USCIS.gov is often the first point of contact for USCIS applicants, their families and the interested public. Our previous website left many of those visitors without answers to their questions," said USCIS Director Emilio Gonzalez. "We have enhanced several of our online features, making it easier for you to find and download immigration petitions and applications, file them electronically, and sign up online for appointments at local district offices ...This updated web portal is a giant step forward for our agency and a helpful new tool for you."
