Erath County, Texas, to Employ New Voting System

HAVA-compliant voter verified paper audit trail

Erath County, Texas, has selected the AccuPoll Voting System to meet its needs for a HAVA-compliant voting system. Erath County will be the second Texas county to implement the AccuPoll voting system with a voter verified paper audit trail (VVPAT).

"We're pleased that Erath County has chosen to implement the AccuPoll Voting System," said Dennis Vadura, CEO of AccuPoll. "AccuPoll's voting system is certified to the 2002 Federal standards provides all of the accessibility features required by the Help America Vote Act (HAVA)."

AccuPoll will begin delivery of Erath County's new voting system after AccuPoll receives the final paperwork confirming Texas state certification.

AccuPoll designed their electronic voting system to feature a voter verified paper audit trail (VVPAT), which allows voters to verify -- via an immediately printed paper audit trail -- that their vote was accurately recorded at the time it is cast. As a result, AccuPoll's VVPAT system fully empowers voters to independently ensure that their vote is correct at the time it is cast, allowing for an accurate recount and audit capability should the need arise.
