Atlanta and Fulton County Planning to Consolidate 911 Services

According to a recent issue Atlanta's City Newsbytes, Mayor Shirley Franklin and Fulton County Commissioner Robb Pitts are leading plans to consolidate the city and county 911 services. "This level of communication will strengthen the ability of emergency services to act more efficiently and effectively while saving city and county taxpayers money," said Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin in the article. The consolidation is expected to save the city up to $9 million, and implementation will take about 18 months.
