The blog, which supports ongoing dialogue and discussion by its users, will serve as an interactive forum for information and feedback on a series of statewide events, demonstrations, and discussion topics that will focus on business, academic and community technology.
These initiatives will showcase Colorado's technology economy during Colorado Tech Week, Oct. 17-21, 2005.
"With blog readership skyrocketing, we are proud that the launch of the Colorado Tech Week Blog will position the state as a leader in this new technological medium," said Owens.
"Unlike online journals and static web pages that simply post information, true blogs, like the Colorado Tech Week Blog, serve as an interactive tool encouraging the exchange of ideas," said Brian Vogt, director of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade.
Blog topics will include business and legislative issues, event news and announcements, and additional information on how to become involved in Colorado's technology community.
In addition to postings from the Governor, the blog will feature authors and contributors such as:
- Members of Governor's Cabinet
- C-Level Colorado, national and international company/business leaders
- Representatives from the Governor's Commission on Science & Technology
- Professors and academic leaders from higher education institutions
- Leaders from trade and business organizations in the Advance Colorado Center
- Colorado students in technology-related programs
- Members of the media
