WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Employees at the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) now have access to more than 1,500 e-learning course and e-books through the bureau's learn.atf Web site.

The site is resource for 5,000 ATF employees to learn new business skills, master desktop computer applications and earn IT certificates. ATF, a law enforcement agency within the U.S. Department of Justice, is responsible for reducing violent crime and collecting revenue.

Learn.atf is powered by GeoLearning's hosted learning management system (LMS). In addition to course content, the solution provides registration, tracking and reporting capabilities.

The hosted solution allows ATF to avoid the cost and burden of managing e-learning hardware and software, said Frank Russell, GeoLearning president and CEO.

"The cost savings and speed-to-deployment offered by our hosted LMS solutions provide federal agencies with reliable Web-based tools they need to manage human capital development, advance the accomplishment of agency missions and support the president's management agenda."
