Good Guys Sometimes Win Too

You can work friendly and get things done.

My Google search on "emergency management" turned up this story the other day, Thurston County Medic One and Emergency Management Official Steve Romines Retires.

I saw Steve last summer when we were both at a cancer walk together. He looked great, had a wonderful attitude and was grateful to be alive. This is the same personality that he had for the many years where our paths had crossed at various events or committee meetings.

It takes all types of personalities to make up a community. There are the hard-charging, take-no-prisoner types who get the job done, but sometimes it is great to deal with someone looking to move the cause forward, and not necessarily just their agency, jurisdiction or personal agenda.

We all wish Steve well in retirement and remember fondly his legacy of someone we enjoyed working with.
