Answer: The Moon.

Suitcase-size fission reactors are a promising option for powering manned outposts on the Moon or Mars, said James Werner, leader of a team that’s scheduled to build a technology demonstration unit in 2012. Werner, speaking Sunday, Aug. 28, to the American Chemical Society, said the tiny reactor would lack cooling towers and other trademarks of terrestrial nuclear plants.
