According to a Tuesday news release, the integration will allow first responders and emergency communications centers to get instant notifications when users initiate emergency protocols through Raptor’s Raptor Alert platform and provide users with immediate access to incident information directly within RapidDeploy’s Next-Gen 911 platform. The information includes the school’s name, emergency type, location, name and phone number of the caller, and latitude/longitude.
“We are living in a time of increased threats to our schools, and our panic button alert system shares critical information with the right teams in seconds,” Chris Noell, chief product officer of Raptor Technologies, said in a statement. “Our integration with RapidDeploy ensures that schools have a direct and reliable method of connecting to 911 agencies and sharing location information so that they can get the emergency assistance they need.”
According to the announcement, the partnership combines tools such as RapidDeploy’s Radius Mapping solution, which provides callers and dispatchers a direct line of communication during school emergencies, with Raptor’s emergency alert system. The solution will also be integrated with Lightning, a companion app to Radius that provides responders with critical incident information via mobile devices.
The announcement noted that the Raptor alert system is currently used by more K-12 schools in the U.S. “than any other panic alert system,” adding that Raptor Technologies provides safety solutions to more than 5,000 school systems nationally. More than 1,500 911 agencies in the U.S. reportedly use RapidDeploy’s tools.
