Jabari Simama
Jabari Simama, director of the Atlanta Mayor's Office of Community Technology last week announced a series of seminars called "Technology for Us," designed to provide educators and government officials with information needed to make sound decisions about telecommunications and digital technology.
"It can be difficult even for experienced technology professionals to know which tools to use to solve a particular problem they face in their daily work," said Simama in a release. "We need to understand current technology and how it applies to us in practical terms. In order to maintain the focus on real life problems, we will organize the program around case studies that show how our colleagues have employed technology in exemplary ways."
The first of these seminars -- on Voice over IP -- will be held in partnership with The Consultant Registry, on October 20 at the Georgia Center for Advanced Telecommunications Technology.
