Barcelona, Bologna and Stockholm Win 'eCitizenship for All' Awards

100 European cities from some 25 countries have participated in the survey by adding their eGovernment initiatives to TeleCities European knowledge base

At the European conference "Gaining from Visions" held last month in Vienna and hosted by Eurocities , TeleCities and Access, TeleCities and Deloitte presented the annual eCitizenship for All Awards for eGovernment.

Three cities were honored with the eCitizenship for All Awards 2004, in recognition of excellence in one of TeleCities four major challenges:
  • City of Barcelona (Spain) with Citizen's Folder (Re-engineering) and Porta22 (eLearning and Inclusion)
  • City of Bologna (Italy) with Iperbole Civic Network (eDemocracy)
  • City of Stockholm (Sweden) with Biometric log-on for Students and Teachers and Increasing Awareness of ICT Security (both eSecurity).
The honorary mentions were:
  • City of Espoo (Finland) with Open Espoo (eDemocracy)
  • City of Copenhagen (Denmark) with Digital Self Service (Re-engineering)
  • City of Liverpool (UK) with i-Learn (eLearning and Inclusion)
