Nominated by the National League of Cities

Don DeLoach, CIO for the city of Tallahassee, Fla., has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Public Technology Institute (PTI), a non-profit technology research and development organization created by and for America's cities and counties. DeLoach's nomination was unanimously approved at the Board's July 28, 2006 meeting.

"On behalf of the leadership and membership of PTI, I am pleased to welcome Don DeLoach to the PTI Board," said Board Chairman Brian O'Neill, Councilmember from Philadelphia. "Don brings a unique perspective to the Board, not only as a CIO, but through his active leadership with other membership-based organizations, including the Florida League of Cities."

As CIO, DeLoach oversees Tallahassee's Department of Information Services Systems. This department provides technology and telecommunications services to all city departments, providing infrastructure, support, maintenance and project management for 20 locations and over 30 internal departments that interconnect with numerous external agencies.

DeLoach was nominated by the National League of Cities (NLC) to serve on the PTI Board of Directors. NLC, the National Association of Counties (NACo) and the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) each hold one seat on the PTI Board.
