Cindy Reed New Deputy Director of Service Delivery for Texas DIR

Will work with state agencies to transform technology in Texas

Larry Olson and Brian Rawson today announced the hiring of Cynthia (Cindy) Reed as the Deputy Director of Service Delivery, as of Monday, February 13th. "In that position Cindy will assist in establishing the strategic and tactical direction of the Division, as well as providing oversight to the division's diverse business operations," said Olson and Rawson. "Additionally, she will be very involved in managing major transformation initiatives aimed at streamlining processes, technology and programs through the implementation of various business innovation projects.

"Cindy brings over 20 years of diverse state government experience," continued the announcement, "with a demonstrated ability to streamline and improve state agency operations. She has proven leadership ability with 17 years' experience in progressively responsible management positions, including over six years at the executive management level. She also has extensive experience working with state leadership offices and the Legislature, agency governing boards, agency management and external organizations to resolve contested issues and facilitate solutions.

"For the last four years, Cindy has worked in an executive capacity at the Texas Building and Procurement Commission (TBPC), most recently as that agency's executive director. Prior to that, she worked at the State Auditors Office (SAO), the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI), and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

"Cindy holds a Bachelor's degree in business administration (Accounting) from the University of Texas at Austin, and she is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Texas."

Reed will work with state agencies, said the announcement, to transform technology in Texas.
