City of Atlanta Puts Permitting Online

"This is the beginning of what we think will be exciting and efficient changes in how we engage with our customers"

The City of Atlanta's Department of Planning and Community Development has started phase one of the online permitting process for the convenience of contractors doing business with the city, according to the city's newsletter. Permits for plumbing installations and elevator modernization are currently available, with other types of permits to be added soon.

"The mayor asked me to lead an initiative to improve the city's building permit approval process," said Chief Operating Officer Lynnette Young. "This is the beginning of what we think will be exciting and efficient changes in how we engage with our customers."

"This is an exciting time for the Department of Planning and Community Development," said Acting Director James Shelby. "My staff and I are excited to be a part of this history-making era in the city of Atlanta."
