Description: Contract Advertisement Request for Proposals Cultural Resource Database - Records Inventory, Collection and Conversion Advertisement Publication Date 5/25/2002 Branch of Government State Of California Agency Department of Parks & Recreation Estimated Value $100,000 - $499,999 Duration 640 calendar days Location(s): Statewide The State of California, Department of Parks and Recreation (Dpr) is seeking a firm to take inventory and collect existing paper and digital records that document cultural and paleontological resources in all units of the State Park System. Existing records suggest that there are approximately 10,000 archaeological records, 2,500 documented historic buildings and structures, and 2,000 paleontological resources in the State Park System. A process is needed to develop, implement and convert these records into appropriate digital formats for use in the Department s Cultural Resource GIS (an ArcSde/SQLServer geodatabase). A data-loading system to enable Dpr staff to add the records to its cultural resource GIS, and provide documentation, training and post-implementation support to assist Dpr staff in the use of the data-loading tool.
