Disaster Readiness Webinar for State and Local Government Features Director of Office of Emergency Preparedness for City of New Orleans

Sneed will describe how the city of New Orleans has reinvented its disaster preparedness in the wake of Hurricane Katrina using information technology.

On Tuesday, February 12, CIBER Inc. will host a free webinar for state and local government leaders to learn how to effectively coordinate emergency management activities across multiple government agencies. The one-hour webinar, titled "Moving Beyond the Disaster Readiness Plateau: The Mandate for Integrating Government Capabilities," will be held at noon Eastern time and will feature AJ Briding, certified emergency manager, CIBER, and Jerry Sneed, USMC (Ret.), director, Office of Emergency Preparedness for the city of New Orleans.

Briding will describe an enterprise model to help integrate activities among emergency management, homeland security and continuity of operations/continuity of government (COOP/COG) agencies. In addition, Sneed will describe how the city of New Orleans has reinvented its disaster preparedness in the wake of Hurricane Katrina using information technology (IT) to serve as the foundation of an effective -- and cost-effective -- emergency management plan.

The webinar will be recorded and available for viewing on Feb. 14 for those who are unable to attend the live event. More information available online.
