El Paso County Commissioner Perez Online Wednesday

March 16, 7-8 p.m. to answer questions from the public

El Paso County Commissioner Barbara Perez -- who took office as the commissioner for Precinct 1 in January, will be on El Paso County's Web site for the first time from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 16. During the public forum, she will respond to any questions El Pasoans might have on county government and about Commissioners Court and the decisions it makes.

"As a member of the Court we're involved with every issue related to the county, not only with our individual precincts," Perez said. She will be open to any discussion on the new City/County Health District agreement, which she worked on, the county's tax abatement program and on the new season that's set to start at the Sportspark.

Perez described the live public forum on the county's Web page as a wonderful new means of communication. It's easy, she said. People can log on to the county's Web page and link on to the County Conversation online site to submit their questions. Questions can be submitted before the day and time of the public forum.

"I hope El Pasoans will take advantage of this opportunity to communicate directly with me, either to ask a question or just to make comment," Perez said. "We need to know what our constituents think about the work we're doing and how we can do better."
