Electronic Notarizations For Commonwealth Counties

The Electronic Notarization Seal Program will pave the way for secure, high-end electronic transactions

The Penn. Department of State, in collaboration with a special team of the Commonwealth's county recorders and the National Notary Association, will launch Phase I of the new, statewide electronic notarization system February 2, 2006 at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia.

The Electronic Notarization Seal Program will pave the way for secure, high-end electronic transactions, such as home mortgages. The program will improve service to consumers by encouraging notaries public to perform some of their services electronically. "We are using technology to help us better serve Pennsylvania consumers while continuing to safeguard important documents and records for accuracy, dependability and filing," Secretary of the Commonwealth Pedro A.
