Fall 2004 California Online Voter Guide Debuts

Nonpartisan resource serves growing pool of eligible voters

To help voters prepare for November's general election, the California Voter Foundation (CVF) released the eleventh edition of its California Online Voter Guide.

"The number of people eligible to vote in California has increased by over 400,000 since the last presidential election," said Saskia Mills, CVF executive director and editor of the California Online Voter Guide. "Our guide will provide all the state's voters with information not only about the candidates and propositions, but also about the voting process itself."

Along with choosing a president and vice president, voters this fall will elect a U.S. Senator, 53 members of Congress, 100 state legislators and countless local officials. Voters will also decide the fate of 14 statewide ballot measures ranging in topic from primary election rules and stem cell research, to tribal gaming compacts and California's "three strikes" law.
