Description: The City of Colorado Springs, Department of Public Works/Transit Unit (sometimes hereinafter referred to as Springs Transit or the City) is soliciting Proposals from firms interested in supplying Springs Transit with sixty-five (65) state-of-the-art fareboxes and receiving equipment to include all necessary hardware, software, installation and technical support (sometimes hereinafter referred to as Fare Collection Equipment system). The City feels the technology currently available can help Springs Transit improve our transportation efficiency, passenger and operator satisfaction and municipal performance. The fully integrated, system should be designed for use in fixed-route buses and should incorporate some or all of the following: Responses to this Request for Proposal will be accepted until Close of Business, Thursday, April 25, 2002. Various City of Colorado Springs employees representing various City Departments and Units will evaluate the proposals. We believe we have left the door open for your creativity in structuring a proposal that is consistent with your potential for profit and the City's needs.
