Farmers Branch, Texas, to Provide City-Wide Wi-FI

Will enable a range of free and fee-based services and provide secure high-speed access to data, voice and video throughout the coverage area

Farmers Branch has selected NeoReach Wireless to design, deploy and operate a city-wide wireless service in the city.

The planned wireless network, which will cover all 12 square miles of the city, will enable a range of free and fee-based services and provide secure high-speed access to data, voice and video throughout the coverage area. Subscription services will be offered on an annual, monthly, daily and hourly basis and will allow access to multiple Internet service providers.

Subscribers will be able to access the wireless network from anywhere at any time within the coverage area. All Wi-Fi-enabled devices will have free access to the network landing page, which will contain information about the service and instructions on how to connect. Visitors will be able to navigate the city of Farmers Branch website and certain other selected websites at any time without limitation or cost.

Farmers Branch Mayor Bob Phelps said, "Farmers Branch is a community that has always been proud of its heritage. We have been equally progressive in keeping up with the ever-changing nature of technology and innovation. With the installation of this city-wide wireless network, Farmers Branch continues to stay ahead of the technological curve in making sure our residents and businesses have the best opportunity to exist and compete in the 21st century global community."

The city of Farmers Branch is located on the northwest border of the city of Dallas. The city has 425 full-time employees, 27,000 residents and 85,000 business people.
