Fulton Named Top 10 Digital County For Third Consecutive Year

"This award supports our efforts to bring citizens and the County government closer through technology"

For the third year in a row, the Center for Digital Government in partnership with the National Association of Counties and Government Technology magazine, rated Fulton County among the nation's top 10 "Digital Counties."

The ranking is based on an assessment of county governments' utilization of information technology to improve the overall delivery of services to their customers and citizens.
Fulton is tied for second place with San Diego County, Calif., among counties with a population over 500,000. Fulton County was the only Georgia county to be included on the list in any population category, and the highest ranked county in the Southeast.

"We were proud to be rated 9th for the past two years, but 2nd is fantastic!" said Fulton County CIO/IT Director Robert Taylor. "Fulton County citizens demand an innovative government and readily accessible information. This award supports our efforts to bring citizens and the County government closer through technology. We are grateful to the Board of Commissioners' support of our efforts."

"Technology is key to our service delivery strategy," said Fulton County Manager Thomas C. Andrews. "I congratulate Mr. Taylor and his team on this accomplishment."
