Gov. Perdue Launches New Feature on Official Web Site

Constituents can request letter from governor to commemorate special events

Governor Sonny Perdue launched a new feature on his official Web site which will enable Georgians to receive a letter in commemoration of a special occasion. The Governor's Office will maintain the Web site for citizens to send in requests to honor an individual or an event, such as a birthday, wedding anniversary, birth or scouting award.

The link can be found under "Greetings from the Governor".

"One of the best things about being governor is traveling our state and hearing stories from citizens about their successes," said Perdue. "It's a pleasure for me to listen to constituents and congratulate them on achieving their goals and remarkable milestones."

This new Web link will enable citizens to request a congratulatory letter from the governor for themselves or someone else. Greetings will be granted for the following requests:
  • Wedding anniversaries 50 years and over
  • Birthdays 80 years and over
  • Birth announcements after a baby is born
  • Eagle Scout
  • Girl Scout Gold Award
