The State Criminal Justice Planning Fund supports cost-effective programs that use broad approaches to improving Texas' criminal and juvenile justice systems. Recipients of the State Criminal Justice Planning Fund grants complement the governor's strategy for creating effective support programs that reduce the number of crimes committed and provide accountability in the criminal justice system.
Each year, CJD awards more than $113 million in grants to fund juvenile justice, criminal justice and victim services programs. The awards may be given to private and public organizations, including local government entities, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, and law enforcement agencies.
