"As I have always said, this administration is a true partnership and I am very pleased to announce Lt. Governor Judge as my new Homeland Security Advisor," said Governor Culver. "She has experience in homeland security and this role is clearly a natural fit.
"As my Homeland Security Advisor, Lt. Governor Judge will serve to not only keep me informed and advise me regarding all issues of security in and around our state, but she will also work with the federal Homeland Security Department to make sure Iowa's interests are known and understood around the country. In addition, she will work with other state agencies to ensure our government is ready for disasters both natural and man made, and work with other states to ensure that Iowa is at the forefront of preparedness and we are not caught asleep at the wheel."
General Ron Dardis served as Homeland Security Advisor from July 2005 to February 2007.
