"We have established a website to be used as a clearinghouse to aid those companies affected"

Greater Houston Partnership chairman Jodie L. Jiles recently announced the Partnership's commitment to helping companies affected by Hurricane Katrina to temporarily conduct their business from Houston.

Business owners seeking assistance should visit www.houstonhurricaneaid.org for a listing of Houston-area companies offering assistance. Many of the organizations listed are offering free or greatly reduced products and services, including but not limited to, office lease space, computer equipment and phone service. The "Frequently Asked Questions" section of the website allows visitors to get their questions answered instantly by Partnership staff.

"We are so proud of the way the Houston region and the business community have come together and opened their doors and heart to give hope to the refugees of Hurricane Katrina," Jiles said. "We want Houston to be the city of hope for hurricane Katrina refugees."
