Illinois Inventor Says He Has Answer to Ballot Problems

His new electronic voting system combines computer, paper in the voting booth.

WEST DUNDEE, Ill. -- Like just about everyone else, Sanford Morganstein grew frustrated as he watched the 2000 election and its aftermath reveal serious inadequacies in how Americans go to the polls and get their votes counted.

Unlike most, Morganstein could do something about it.

A West Dundee resident with a knack for inventions and two dozen U.S. patents to his credit, Morganstein today will unveil his latest creation: a computer-based voting system that promises to greatly reduce election errors without increasing the opportunity for corruption.
