The city's new online election research function allows users to search by name, elected office or year. The search returns such valuable information as election outcome and the amount and percentage of votes each candidate received.
"This provides an important service for our constituents, especially during the election cycle," said acting City Clerk Beverly Bridges. "The City Clerk's Office spends a lot of time providing historical information like this over the phone and in person. This increases efficiency for not only our staff, but the public as well."
Other election information posted on the city's Web site includes voter registration information, candidate forms and candidate financial contribution reports. All of this information can be accessed by choosing "Elections" on the left-hand side of the Web site.
"This new function provides yet another way that the city provides online services 24 hours a day, seven days a week," said Information Technologies Director Joseph Marcella. "This new service joins a growing list of online services that we provide to our citizens including online bill payment, class registration and citizen complaint submissions."
The city of Las Vegas Web site features a number of online payment services such as sewer bill payment, parking ticket payment and leisure class registration and payment. Other online services include archived video of the Las Vegas City Council meetings, permit and business license search, submission of citizen complaints and traffic cameras. Wireless Internet connection is also available in a number of city facilities.
