London Launches Public and Community Services Portal

YourLondon, the official Web site for London's public and community services, went live on April 25, according to a release on the site. The site aims to connect services and information across borough boundaries.

The first development phase includes:

• A master services directory allowing users to browse or search for public services from the 33 London Boroughs
• Links to over 6,000 information sites relating to London public and community services
• An online directory of information about London's community and voluntary sector organizations
• A "find your nearest" to locate services such as their nearest post office, which links to an online journey planner
• A comprehensive London Public Sector job search facility.

Site development continues and will include two-way communication with public and community service organizations.
