Michigan Citizens Checking Income Tax Returns Online

The nearly five-million State of Michigan taxpayers who will file income tax returns by the April 17th deadline this year, can easily access information about their income tax return

The nearly five-million State of Michigan taxpayers who will file income tax returns by the April 17th deadline this year, can easily access information about their income tax return by clicking on the Check My Income Tax Info box on Treasury's Web site.

Through the Check My Income Tax Info site, individuals can check the status of their refunds, payments, or correspondence. Taxpayers can also ask account-specific questions via e-mail and easily find answers to frequently asked questions. Because users must enter their last name, Social Security Number, Adjusted Gross Income/Household Income, and filing status to gain access to the site, personal information on Check My Income Tax Info is secure.

"We are always looking for ways to enhance Treasury's customer service," said Chief Deputy Treasurer Julie Croll. "Research indicated many taxpayers were unaware of what was available to them on our site. We believe this change addresses that issue."

Michigan's business taxpayers can also gain access to business account-specific tax information, by logging onto Treasury's Check My Business Tax Info site.

Those who do not have internet access can receive the same information offered on-line by calling (800) 827-4000. Taxpayers need to provide their name, Social Security Number, Adjusted Gross Income/Household Income, and filing status to access account-specific information.
