Inman to provide leadership for state information technology services

Kentucky Gov. Ernie Fletcher announced today that Mike Inman has been appointed commissioner of technology for the Finance and Administration Cabinet. As commissioner, Inman will provide leadership for the Governor's Office for Technology, as well as direction for the state's information technology services.

A Harrodsburg native, Inman is a retired army officer who most recently worked for the Federal Division of Computer Associates International in Virginia, where he built information technology solutions for the Department of Defense.

"Technology is an essential tool for government to communicate with its citizens and a critical component of our goal to move Kentucky forward," stated Fletcher. "I look forward to working with Mike, and I am pleased he has joined us in our mission."

Inman holds an associate's degree from Troy State University, a bachelor's degree in government from Western Kentucky University, a master's degree in information systems management from the University of Southern California and a master's of military arts and sciences from Command and General Staff College.

"Mike's military and private sector experience provide a new perspective that will be a tremendous asset as he provides leadership for state government's information services," Finance and Administration Cabinet Secretary Robbie Rudolph said.

The Governor's Office for Technology provides stewardship, policy direction and technical support to all executive branch agencies of state government in the application of information technology and the delivery of information services.
