Missouri's New Business Portal Shows Promising Results

Since Feb. 20, over 46,000 visitors have visited the site.

Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan and Gov. Matt Blunt yesterday lauded the initial response to Missouri's Business Portal created to support Missouri's small businesses.

Since launching the new Internet site on February 20, over 46,000 visitors have visited the site. The Missouri Business Portal averages nearly 1,500 visitors a day who are searching for information regarding business registration, Missouri use tax, consumers use tax, sales tax exemptions, business entity searches and information on business licenses.

"I'm pleased to see that so many business owners have been taking advantage of the Missouri Business Portal," said Carnahan. "As a small business owner myself, I know what a difference it can make when government cuts through red tape and helps business owners easily find what they need."

"The initial response to Missouri's Business Portal has been outstanding," Blunt said. "Missouri's economy is moving forward because of Missouri's dedicated workforce and the hard work of Missouri's business community, particularly small businesses. With this new tool, Missouri's entrepreneurs can more easily access the information they need to realize the American dream of starting their own small business."
