NASCIO Convenes for Spring Meeting

32 state CIOs have registered for the event

The National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) will convene for its midyear meeting at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago, Ill., on April 25-27. CIOs from 32 states have registered for the event. In addition, policy officials such as chiefs of staff and state budget officers will also be in attendance. The conference is an opportunity for the key technology policy-makers in each state to share information and develop new initiatives.

One of the highlights of the conference will be the presentation of the 2004 NASCIO Technology Champion Award, which honors outstanding achievements by an individual in the field of information technology. The winner will be announced at the Technology Champion Award luncheon on Monday, April 25.

The conference program will include sessions addressing timely issues such as government without borders, collaboration with elected officials, the Help America Vote Act and cyber-security.

The conference will end with a state CIO and corporate member roundtable addressing global IT outsourcing. Information Technology Association of America President Harris Miller will moderate the discussion.
