Prior to his appointment, Stockwell served as the Deputy Chief for the Application Design & Development group, overseeing the software development of more than 50 agency boards and commissions.
Originally from Carson City, Stockwell began his career in the information and technologies field in 1963, when he served as the Data Processing Manager for the Nevada Air National Guard. His impressive career in the IT industry includes accomplishments such a successful private business partnership with IBM, planning the computer systems of large Nevada hotels and casinos, and a nine-year career with Nevada's DoIT. He plans to utilize those 43 years of experience by "expanding services and setting a new direction for DoIT."
"Daniel Stockwell's accomplished career in the information and technologies field will serve as an invaluable resource to DoIT," said Gibbons. "His 43 years of experience will provide necessary leadership and direction for the department and the people of this state."
